The Festival's day-time programme was complimented by two special evening events. On Friday 23rd September Michelin-starred chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli, delighted an audience of 90 diners with a demonstration of a three course dinner menu smoked salmon, braised pork and Food Festival crepe , specially selected from local ingredients. Northumberland Gazette competition winner, Vince Hope, joined Jean-Christophe on the stage to prepare the food. “We had a fantastic time and cooking with Jean-Christophe was a brilliant experience,” said Vince. Jean-Christophe also generously auctioned three day places at his Academy in aid of this year's featured charity, Hospice Care's Jam Jar Army Appeal. This event was generously supported by Northumbria Water .
