There will be a cornucopia of entertainers to delight you at the 2009 Alnwick Food Festival. As soon as they are confirmed, they will be posted here.
In the meantime, below are some of the highlights of the 2008 festival. Returning by popular demand were the spectacular Samande Jugglers and the traditional New Orleans jazz trio, the Segretta Stompers. Beefy and Lamby also made a return appearance. New last year was the Chilli Man. There was also a chance to meet Alnwick Food Festival's own mascot Alf the Lion (and special guest!).
THE CHILLI MAN
One of the Little Green Men, the Chilli Man is from Chorley, Lancashire. Apart from being an expert on all things chilli, he is highly entertaining. It'll be hilarious - don't miss it! Find out more on the exhibitors page. |

SEGRETTA STOMPERS

The Segretta Stompers have been providing top quality Trad Jazz since their founding in 1992. Their unique brand of hot jazz, versatility and wide-ranging repertoire have entrtained at festivals and farmers' markets all over the North..
Bryan Park founded the Stompers and leads from the front on trumpet. They play mainly traditional New Orleans jazz, but are able to step out of New Orleans and play music by The Beatles, 1920s dance music....
SAMANDE JUGGLERS
Big hit in 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008!
These legendary jugglers from the Q20 Theatre Company have made a name for themselves at festivals and street theatre throughout Britain. Crowds are drawn to their brilliant humour and repartee, which is as skilful as their juggling. If you missed them at Covent Garden, the Bradford Festival, The Edinburgh Festival or the streets of York make sure you see them at the Alnwick Food Festival. Dressed in their distinguished dinner suits they present an exhilarating show. A real power house of juggling and unicycling, the show features the free-standing ladder routines - all mixed with a liberal dose of self-deprecating humour.
BEEFY AND LAMBY
Beefy and Lamby help Eblex (the English Beef and Lamb Executive) promote their Quality Standard scheme which has been introduced to help identify good quality meat at point of purchase. By introducing the scheme, with its easily identifiable logo, Eblex hope to provide customers with a product that assures them about its eating quality and provenance. |
