Getting there

By car:
Alnwick is easy to get to by car. It is situated on the A1 between Berwick and Morpeth. Take the turn-off to Alnwick and follow the signs to the town centre car parks or the overflow parking. Check out the route planners of the AA or the RAC to map your journey.

By train:
Alnmouth, on the East Coast Main Line from London to Edinburgh, is the nearest station. From there, either take a taxi or the bus for the 4 miles into Alnwick. National Rail Enquiries' website will help you plan your trip.

By plane:
Domestic flights arrive at Newcastle International Airport from Aberdeen, Belfast, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Isle of Man, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Stansted and Southampton. International destinations include Amsterdam, Alicante, Barcelona, Brussels, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Paris, Prague, Stavanger, Berlin and Copenhagen. Alnwick is 30 miles north of the airport, straight up the A1. Newcastle Airport's website is useful.

By bus:
A regular Arriva bus service operates between Newcastle and Alnwick. The Arriva website can help with times.

By sea:
You can even reach us by sea, via the ferry terminal at North Shields. Take a look at the Port of Tyne website for more information.
