The Percy family have owned Alnwick Castle and surrounding lands since 1309. In order to ensure the continued upkeep of this heritage, the business has undergone significant change in recent years. Today the core of the business focuses on property development, management and investment. The Estate owns an international property portfolio although this centres on the North East of England where we are based. Tourism is another important contributor. The Northumberland Estates is proud to support the Alnwick Food Festival. PartnerBruce Jobson Associates have provided 'pro bono' PR & Media services to the Food Festival throughout the summer. Alnwick Rum/Alnwick IPARumAlnwick Rum, the Spirit of Northumberland was first produced by the Alnwick Rum Co. during the first world war. A unique and complex blend of pot-still and continuous-still rums from Jamaica and Guyana, you'll love its full, rich taste and aroma combining dark chocolate with warm spicy raisins and mature fruits. Tragically production of Alnwick Rum ceased in the 1980's, but the legendary treasure of the North is now back! See history for the full details of its triumphant return!
